Website Owner / Content Contributor

  • All content (formatting and layout), including text, links, images, documents, etc..

College, School and Divisional Webmasters

  • All content (formatting and layout), including text, links, images, documents, etc..
  • New page and section creation in your website
  • Deletion of unused pages, images, and documents

  • Quality Assurance
  • Accessibility of all content posted to the internets
  • Tier 1 Technical support
  • Web coding and programming
  • Web design and branding enforcement
  • Web site structure
  • Forms and data capture
  • A steward for User Experience, Content Strategy, and Information Architecture
  • Maintain positive working relationship with University web director(s)
  • Coordinate well with sub-departments to maintain consistency
  • Representation in the DCC
  • Clarifying policies and best practices to site owners and influencers
  • Liaison to those the webmaster consults for about proposed and existing WordPressUA websites that are auxiliary to OmniCMS websites. This also includes advising on self-created websites to bring such websites into some degree of compliance, for mutual benefit, security and support

University Relations / University Webmaster

  • Develop, manage and sustain positive working relationships with webmasters.
  • Host meetings to foster the inclusion of ideas that support the university’s various web strategies. These include, but are not limited to:
    • Webmaster
    • Web manager
    • Departmental leadership
    • Design committees
    • Technical committees
    • Content committees
    • RFP committees
  • Advocate and support the creation and changes in policies and processes that support the university’s various web strategies.
  • Serve as backup to the webmasters in an effort to maintain business continuity for Colleges and Divisions, in addition to providing supplemental skill sets and resources.
  • Serve as consultant and web subject matter expert to the university and any who require these services.
  • Manage and maintain a university wide content management system.
  • Manage and maintain a university wide data repository for news, maps, campus experts, campus directory, among other data that cannot be acquired through other university systems.
  • Provide training and support for all levels of web responsibilities.
  • Provide content strategy services to manage and advise on practices and actions needed to improve content, navigation and over all user experience.
  • Provide oversite of adherence to applicable university policies and act accordingly.
  • Provide support and guidance to improve compliance with the WCAG/WC3 standards.
  • Provide focus group and usability studies to further improve our interaction with our visitor bases.
  • Approve new websites.
  • Monitor websites for violations of university policy and compliances and report to the appropriate university officials as needed.

Dept head / Dean / AVC

Ultimate responsibility falls on these positions to ensure compliance of university policies, standards, and guidelines through-out their organization.
